This weeks Run... Wednesday, August 3rd- 6:30pm...

Is Scheduled for Shubie park with meeting at the Centers' parking lot. We would like to change that to access some of the trails that are further down the lake system. We are going to meet at the first overpass out the Waverly Road. Simply drive as you would to Shubie, but do not turn down Locks Drive (the left just after the lights at the Tim's). Drive another few minutes down the road and you will see the first overpass and is has ample parking on both sides of the road underneath. Hope to see you all there. Spread the word if you can too.

A "Thank You" that is 40 Years in the Making

This Wednesday night ( August 20th) at the Trail Shop, the Staff is holding a customer appreciation event for all of us who wish to help them celebrate 40 years in the biz. So come out to the Run at Long Lake and then we can go share in a few beers at the shop. Hope to see you there.

HTR Welcomes and Thanks TEVA for stepping up as a new sponsor!

TEVA has supplied the club with a "loaner" fleet of men's and women's trail shoe. So if you are still running in those old white roadies or the fact that you don't have trail shoes is why you have not come out...well...now, NO excuses.

Welcome to the online home of the Halifax Trail Runners: Nova Scotia's Original Trail Running Club. We welcome runners of any skill and ability level to get off the road and into the woods. There is no cost for the club, but we do ask that you come prepared and willing to run, sweat, and laugh! The club aims to bring together runners with similar interests and to expose all runners to new events, goals, and the trail running community. So come out and get dirty with us!

We have a Facebook site as well as a Google Group where you can sign up and be part of the online Trail Running community. Go to the links section of this website and click away.

The club would like to thank Joacim Stroink  and The Trail Shop for their continued sponsorship of the club and we look forward to having a record turn out his year. We would also like to thank the returning volunteer guide runners who, week in and week out, come out and ensure that everyone has a good run and lots of laughs too.

We are planning on hosting some weekend events. Perhaps some longer runs at locations further outside of the city. We have also tossed around the idea of an overnighter, a surf trip, and a  moonlight beach run. Keep checking the site for updates. We would love your ideas too, so email the address below and let us know.

This is a friendly group and we encourage runners of all skill levels. However, our four-legged friends are not permitted as we do not want anyone getting tangled up. Some dogs are great and run all the time with their owners- I know mine does. But runners who are not used to running with dogs may be tripped up. So please leave Fido at home.

Carpooling is not something that we as a club can organize do to liability issues. However, please use the online chat sites and groups as a way to find drives and share rides. With a focus on saving the environment we are running in as well as with the price of gas being at a crazy price, we should all show up with a few bodies in the car.
